*Condemnation of the killing of American activist Aisha Noor Ezgi Aygi by Israeli occupation forces*

The Human Rights and Civil Society Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization strongly condemns the heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces today, Friday, which resulted in the martyrdom of the American activist of Turkish origin, *Aisha Noor Ezgi Aygi* (26 years old), during her participation in a peaceful protest against settlement expansion in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.

The targeting of international solidarity activists and Palestinian civilians with live ammunition as part of Israel's oppressive policies highlights its ongoing violations of international law and human rights. This crime is yet another chapter in Israel's continuous attacks against innocent civilians, constituting a blatant violation of the civil and human rights of activists and supporters in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In light of this, the Human Rights and Civil Society Department calls for the *formation of an independent international investigation committee* to look into the circumstances surrounding the killing of activist Aisha Noor and to ensure accountability for the perpetrators of this horrific crime.

The department further urges the *United States to reconsider its unconditional and ongoing support for Israel*, which fuels the violations and crimes committed against Palestinian civilians and international activists. This support indirectly enables Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people and its international supporters.

Finally, the department stresses the importance of intensifying international efforts to protect civilians and activists, working towards ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, and halting settlement expansion, which endangers the peace and security of the entire region.
