Red Crescent warns of the impact of cutting off communications on the work of ambulance crews

RAMALLAH, Friday, October 27, 2023

- The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) today warned of the impact of the total loss of communication with the Society’s operations room in the Gaza Strip on the work of its ambulance crews in light of the Israeli occupation authorities cutting off communications and the Internet.

“We are very concerned about the possibility of our crews continuing to provide their ambulance services, especially since this interruption affects the 101 central communication service and impedes the arrival of ambulances to the injured and wounded,” the PRCS said in a statement.

It expressed concern for the safety of its crews working in the Gaza Strip in light of the ongoing Israeli bombing around the clock as Gaza becomes isolated from the outside world.

It called on the international community to put pressure on the occupation authorities to provide urgent protection to unarmed civilians and medical teams and headquarters.
