Tayseer Khaled: The ICC Pre-Trial Chamber Decision is a Victory for Justice against War Crimes

Tayseer Khaled, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, welcomed the confirmation of the First Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court ,  that the court's territorial jurisdiction includes all the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, in a clear reference to the territorial integrity of Palestine, which means clearly and unambiguously, that  land classifications as stated in the agreements signed between the Palestinian and Israeli sides (A, B, and C) are of no importance from the point of view of international law and that they are all are not disputed but  occupied Palestinian lands and, as Israel and the late American administration tried to described in the American deal of the century.

This came as a response to the decision issued by the First Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court at the request of the Prosecutor General Fatou Bensouda regarding the territorial jurisdiction of the court over Palestine decided by the majority , that the court has jurisdiction over the Palestinian lands and that the regional jurisdiction of the court in Palestine includes the lands occupied by Israel. 1967, which is Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, on the grounds that it is subject to a state of belligerent occupation, which results in the application of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 relating to the protection of civilians in times of war

He emphasized that the decision of the first pre-trial chamber of the court came in accordance with Article 12 (2) (a) that includes the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, and that it represents a victory for truth and justice, international law and legitimacy and give the court credibility after a series threats, and punishments that it was subjected to the former US administration, who turned the United States' back on international law and the values ​​of truth and justice, in contradiction to the laws of the jungle and the values ​​of bullying, which the late American administration tried to impose on the world and relations between states and

Tayseer Khaled emphasized the role played by the great absentee Dr. Saeb Erekat in reaching this result, called Fatou Bensouda  for the initiation of arrangements that allow accountability of all natural persons in the occupying  state (military or civilians) for all the crimes stipulated In Article (5) of the Rome Statute, such as war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, crimes of aggression, demolition of Palestinian homes and facilities, crimes of racial discrimination, transfer, ethnic cleansing and everything that would act as a deterrent to the occupation leaders and prevent them from continuing their crimes against Palestinian citizens under occupation .
