The Tel Aviv – Jerusalem Train is part of the Israeli government’s agenda of turning its occupation into annexation. Israel is illegally making use of occupied Palestinian land, in this case in the Latroun Valley, as well as in the villages of Beit Iksa and Beit Surik, for its benefit as the occupying power. This is a further violation of International Humanitarian Law as well as it shows how the Israeli government continues to erode the 1967 border.
This is one of several projects that the Israeli government has been pushing in occupied territory, including in and around Occupied East Jerusalem. We hereafter renew our call to international companies not to get involved in projects that consolidate Israel's colonization and apartheid regime in occupied Palestine. We also reiterate our call upon the UN Human Rights Council to release the database of companies involved in the Israeli occupation, in accordance with resolution 31/36 adopted in March 24, 2016.
